“In times when peaceful and sustainable change is needed more than ever, JuBo gives me the opportunity to create my own projects and help shape the future I want to live in, to make the world a better place for future generations. No one can do that better than the young people of today. This association has so much potential and I am motivated to work with an amazing team. I want to create opportunities for German and Turkish youth to meet and empower each other to become active in their local and global community.”

“In a world full of crisis and uncertainty, it is important that young people come together to look at how we want our future to be. Germany and Turkey share a long (and complicated) history. It is inspiring to be part of an association full of German and Turkish young people who are passionate about developing ideas and projects for unity, youth empowerment, inclusion and diversity. A group of people that actively works on creating safe spaces and reducing discrimination and stereotypes. Peer-to-peer learning is key for that and I am glad to share my expertise and learn from that of others. Together we are powerful!”

“During YASP 2022, I was able to experience how welcoming the community created by Jugendbotschafter e.V. is. As a person with a Turkish migration background, the relationship between German and Turkish youth is very important to me personally. JuBo gives the opportunity that both cultures can meet, exchange and develop ideas that can shape the future. I am a part of JuBo in order to continue to maintain and expand this opportunity. But also to learn new skills, have fun and find new friends along the way.”

“I believe bringing together the youth from Germany and Turkey is very important for the future of our generation. We are raising our voices to the problems we see and working together for a better future. Being part of this association is a way to fight against problems that youth from Germany and Turkey faces. Helping more people who want to take an action is what keeps me going.”

“I became a member of Jugendbotschafter e.V. to create change in the world through the power of youth. After my exchange in Istanbul 2013-14 I was especially interested in German-Turkish relations. As a peer to peer organization with most members being under 25, we have to unique opportunity to work in safe spaces to make the world a better place through international cooperation. The personal level is what I really like. Jugendbotschafter is a network between young encouraged people, where you can learn from each other, try new things out, create projects, have a safe space to fail and peers that help you succeed.”

“As a proud member of the European Youth Parliament and someone who considers himself an active citizen, it’s safe to say that I am very motivated and empowered to make a difference, especially among the youth and between cultures. Adding the fact that I was raised in a Turkish-German family, It is possible to understand how valuable Jugendbotschafter e. V. is to me. Since I was raised in the middle of both Turkish and German culture, it’s my utmost pleasure to connect both cultures and represent them to the youth of Turkey and Germany as good as possible. I aim to take part in the improvement of relations between Germany and Turkey, and have a crucial impact on this. After all, there’s nothing better than knowing that I partook in the context of something that means a lot to me.”

“As a social psychologist working on disadvantage, social cohesion and refugee issues, being a part of JUBO is very valuable to me. We are working on issues of common interest to Turkish and German youth. Migration and integration issues are one of the broadest areas of study for both Turkish and German societies. I am at JUBO with the belief that the work done by young people for young people will lead to more permanent outcomes. And I believe the only way to do better for the world is to keep thinking, moving and acting. Together!”
